Company Overview: Voice Up is a social impact project of Voice Up Publishing Inc. dedicated to empowering communities to drive change through storytelling, digital media, and innovative strategies. We aim to mobilize grassroots efforts and raise awareness about critical issues while ensuring the ethical and equitable use of AI.

 

We are mobilizing college students to help transform our world. We provide a platform for students to share their perspectives and ideas on social justice issues that matter to them.

 

Role Overview

As the Program Director of Track and Behavioral Health at Voice Up, you will develop and manage initiatives that empower student-athletes, particularly Track players, to raise awareness for the social causes they care about and take action to drive positive change.

 

This role serves as a bridge between the Voice Up editorial team and the student-athlete community, ensuring that the publication elevates its important perspectives and experiences through its content and outreach efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit student-athletes, especially Track players, who are passionate about social justice to participate in Voice Up initiatives

  • Work closely with the editorial team to conceptualize and execute content features (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) that spotlight student-athlete activists and their causes

  • Develop programming, workshops, and other engagement opportunities to support student-athletes in effectively communicating their messages, mobilizing their peers, and driving measurable impact

  • Foster relationships with college athletic departments, coaches, and campus organizations to promote Voice Up's mission and build a strong network of student-athlete contributors

  • Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to amplify student-athlete voices and activism across digital platforms

  • Analyze audience engagement data and feedback to continuously improve the program's reach and effectiveness

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the intersection of sports, mental health, and social justice

 

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled in a higher learning institution, including two-year or four-year colleges, universities, or trade schools.

  • Or recent alumni with very strong on-campus real time connections.

  • Or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Track player, coach, or in a similar athletic/sports-related role

  • Deep understanding of the unique challenges and experiences of student-athletes, especially related to mental health and social/community engagement

  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful student engagement and activism programs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and empower diverse student populations

  • Demonstrated project management skills and the capacity to work collaboratively across teams

  • Passion for empowering youth voices and driving positive social change

  • Familiarity with digital media, content production, and social platforms
