Company Overview: Voice Up is a digital media startup focused on mobilizing college students to drive social change through digital and social media. Faith communities and the creative arts have the power to unite people across diverse cultures and backgrounds. We aim to promote compassion, unity, and action for the common good by amplifying voices through music, poetry, and performance.

 

Position Overview: The Program Director for Music & Ministry will be a visionary leader responsible for engaging and uniting students of various faiths and cultural backgrounds to create music and art that fosters social good. In this role, you will develop and lead programs that encourage the use of music, spoken word, and creative performance to inspire empathy, build community, and support humanitarian causes. The Director will bring a unique blend of ministry knowledge, artistic vision, and cultural sensitivity to guide impactful programs that connect faith and creativity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Program Development & Strategy:

 

  • Design and implement programs encouraging students from diverse faith backgrounds to create and share music, poetry, and performances that promote compassion, peace, and service.

  • Develop initiatives that bring together faith-based and cultural communities, celebrating both the uniqueness and commonalities across traditions.

  • Collaborate with editorial and social media teams to share these projects on digital platforms, amplifying the reach and impact of creative works.



 

2. Community Building & Faith Engagement:

 

  • Build and cultivate a network of students, faith leaders, and artists who are passionate about using creative arts to serve the greater good.

  • Organize interfaith events, workshops, and performance series that foster connection and dialogue between students of various beliefs.

  • Develop partnerships with faith organizations, cultural institutions, and ministries to support collaborative programming.



 

3. Creative Direction & Curation:

 

  • Curate high-quality content and performances that reflect the diversity of faith expressions and resonate with Voice Up’s mission.

  • Provide guidance and support to students in creating impactful music, spoken word, and performance art that conveys messages of unity, hope, and humanitarianism.

  • Review and approve submissions to ensure artistic projects align with Voice Up’s mission and values.



 

4. Digital & Social Media Strategy:

 

  • Collaborate with social media managers to create and execute campaigns that showcase interfaith and multicultural artistic initiatives.

  • Develop strategies for maximizing engagement and visibility of creative projects on digital platforms, leveraging multimedia storytelling and social media trends.

  • Track analytics and feedback to assess the impact of programs and optimize for future growth.



 

5. Educational Programming & Mentorship:

 

  • Develop educational resources, webinars, and workshops on the intersection of faith, creative arts, and social justice.

  • Connect students with mentors, including artists, faith leaders, and community activists, to deepen their understanding and skills in creative ministry.

  • Lead discussions and training sessions on using creative arts as a means for ministry and social good, helping students develop as faith-driven artists and advocates.


 

Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a higher learning institution, including two-year or four-year colleges, universities, or trade schools.

  • Or recent alumni with very strong on campus real time connections.

  • 2-4 years of experience in program management, ministry, arts education, or community engagement, ideally with a focus on interfaith or multicultural settings.

  • Strong understanding of faith-based initiatives, social justice, and the role of creative arts in ministry.

  • Experience building and managing programs or events that engage youth or college students, preferably within faith-based or artistic communities.

  • Excellent communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.

  • Familiarity with social media and digital platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, and an ability to optimize content for each.

  • A passion for mentoring and empowering young people to use their creative talents for the common good.

 

Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on the startup’s structure and resources, with the potential for an equity stake or deferred payment arrangement in the initial stages.
